Topic: Filastruder + Laser Cut Enclosure Assembly Problems

I'm building the v1.6 kit (SN 1844) and have figured out how to put everything together using pictures from the forum (I couldn't find a nice walkthrough for using the enclosure kit). I'm ready to start running wires but currently, the motor cannot possibly engage the auger bit. See photos below. I tried using some of the wood spacer rings behind the motor, but this new motor looks much larger than previous and physically collides with the temperature controller.

Re: Filastruder + Laser Cut Enclosure Assembly Problems

You've explained it well, the larger motor (which is included as a free upgrade) interferes with the PID controller.

Solutions:

- Move the PID controller out, and use the provided spacers to move the motor forward.
- Use a deep hex socket, they're about $2 at the local hardware store. I'm happy to refund the cost.

I'll go to the hardware store and get a deep socket - didn't think of that, thanks! I need to get some wire crimps and heat shrink tubing anyway. No worries about refunding. Would be too complicated the way money moves around here.

Thanks!
