Topic: Outer shell pulling away

Hello 3D pros.

I am printing a flat plate on a Ultimaker 2 and the outer shell it always seems to peel away. I am pritning on PLA, I have an infill of 40% and i am going for a standard 2 shells.

Any advice?

Re: Outer shell pulling away

I had this problem starting out. Check your nozzle settings and add 20% to what size your nozzle is.
Eg: .4 nozzle=.48 setting.

Also be sure you have checked the filament diameter and entered/saved properly.

Printit Mason and Printit Horizon printers
Multiple SD2s- Bulldog XL, E3D v5/v6/Lite6, Volcano, Hobb Goblin, Titan, .9 motor, Lawsy carriages, direct Y drive, fishing line...the list goes on
Filawinder and Filastruder #1870.....worth every penny!

Make sure you are tuned in ie steps per mm on extrusion extrusion multiplier nozzle setting etc.
Yes a common problem for new machines until you get the settings down.
your slicer program may also have an overlap feature something called infill perimeter overlap or the like
You can boost this setting if all else fails.

Personally I would add another shell or two  and back the infill down to 25 % this will depend on the use of the item 100% usually recommended for structural stuff.
