How do I upgrade the Z screw?

I want to change my Z screw to a M5, instead of the stock 5/16-18.
And I need the cage/bed to accept the M5 screw.
What is the best way of doing it?
I can't find any thread inserts or adapters, that fit the bill.
So I'm not sure how to do this.
