Topic: Rebuilt Solidoodle only Homes once

I have two Solidoodle 3 printers and I just finished upgrading the PS, board (Rumba), and Extruder and have gotten everything working at this point in time. My only issue is when I home the axis on the rebuilt printer, it only moves towards the limit switch once and then stops when it hits. My other printer hits the switch for the first time, the moves out and approaches again more slowly. Anyone know how/why this is happening on one and not the other? Thanks!

Re: Rebuilt Solidoodle only Homes once

Are you using the SD end stop logic in the firmware?
Jumpers on the unused endstop pins on the Rumba?
What version of firmware are you running?

Re: Rebuilt Solidoodle only Homes once

You probably need to adjust the firmware settings.
Check the configuration files of your firmware
this may give you some ideas

wardjr:

-I downloaded the firmware from a link you posted earlier on this thread: http://www.soliforum.com/topic/6670/rum … nd-wiring/ but I haven't changed any endstop logic from that.

-No, I changed the definition of the pins I am not using to -1 in the pins.h section of the code

-^^^that version

Re: Rebuilt Solidoodle only Homes once

Put that definition back the way it was and jump the unused end stop pins.

I have gone through this many times with the Rumba.  This is the only way to get the firmware to act identically to what you expect (that I have found).  Any of those changes affect other areas of the firmware so you need to feed it the information it expects.
At least try it so I know if that fixes it.  If I am wrong than I would like to discuss your changes in detail in order to understand better.
