Topic: Vertical lines near corner

Hi guys,
   recently I made my SD3 with some modifications
   * lawsy's x,y carriages
   * GT2 belt & pulley

   and I found there are always vertical lines near 90 degree corners on both x and y sides,
   it seems become "wave lines" for a while and then go straight , not sure how to fix it?
   I'm sure the Y belts are equal tight and X belt is also tight and smooth

Re: Vertical lines near corner

Its called ringing and is caused by oscillations in your system usually caused by printing too fast.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!
Anycubic 4MAX best $225 ever invested.
Voxelabs Proxima SLA. 6 inch 2k Mono LCD.
Anycubic Predator, massive Delta machine. 450 x 370 print envelope.

Re: Vertical lines near corner

Hi carl,
   Thanks, does it means my hotend wobbles on printing?
   I consistently set the print speed to 50mm/s, is it too fast? or I should reduce acceleration of x,y moving?

Re: Vertical lines near corner

It looks like a mechanical problem somewhere, like a vibration,
but I would first try different software, to determine if it is mechanical or software caused .

I found similar problem when I was using Makerbot-3.7 that was not there in Replicator-G,
It was only with one object file and only at starting point of layers tho.

Re: Vertical lines near corner

I just read today that Wall-thickness setting in host software can cause a problem like that.
Don't understand how, but he said just changing that setting fixed it.
Did not say which software he was using.
