Topic: ProfTweak & Juggler, GUI for editing and saving profiles ?

Has anyone here tried the ProfTweak software?
It's used to edit Printer Profiles, and is designed to work with Makerware.

I downloaded it and started to Install, until I saw it was trying to upload something to their server.
So, I stopped the install, until I find out more about it ?

From what I've seen it looks good
but I need more Info about if it can be trusted and if it will really be Helpful ??

I sent an email to them asking about the upload during install,
but never got an answer sad

The printer profiles are stored in the machines directory under makerware and replicatorg. They are simple XML documents and can be edited in wordpad. If you look at one they even have comments and are fairly straightforward if you understand how the printer works.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

Yes, but GUI Apps are much more 'User Friendly'.
I had much rather just fill in the 'blanks' than try to edit code ! smile
Why make it more difficult, if there is an option to make it Easy ?

And supposedly that's what ProfTweak does for you.

I'm starting to think ProfTweak  will Not work with Windows-8.1 or 10.

Still can't find any complete reviews of it,
Hope someone here has tried it ??

I also found another 'Profile editor' called 'Juggler', that works with Makerware .
It also has Fan control settings that I think is the nozzle-fan controls ?
Found Juggler at Thingiverse website.
Has anyone tried that one ?

I installed the 'Juggler' profile-editor, very easy to plug in values as long as you know what settings All Do.
I'm not sure about a few yet ?
I'm confused as to what File type the profiles need to be Saved as,
to get them into Makerbot software ???
No help or tutorial files found.

Guess I Need to do more online Searching, for this Also tongue
Since I can Not find anyone that has tried these editors, to talk to.
No replies yet to email questions.

I thought it was .xml but for some reason Makerbot don't Like those , when saved from Juggler?
May be another compatibility Problem with version 3.7 ?

WARNING: I started to install ProfTweak, again , and AVG security said there was a 'Trojan horse virus' in it. yikes
So, l will Not be trying that editor software ! sad

I never got a email reply , back from them, about that sad

it's called a false positive. try something like Avast. AVG is still around?

That's possible but Microsoft's security software, in Windows-10, did not like it Either.
Warning message said something was being uploaded to their server.
That was the first time I started to install it.
The second time was on a W-7 computer.

And I'm curious why they never answered my email reporting the problem ?

I like AVG, it's caught several malware problems recently.
Avast is Good Also !

Have you downloaded and Used ProfTweak software recently?
If not, how do you Know it's a False-positive ?

I'm starting to think it is No longer supported by the developers . sad

Evidently Juggler software will Only edit .json files , used by Makerbot,
Not g-code. sad, for other host software.
