Reckon I'll go back to printing from SD card which is pretty much 100% reliable.
Might be something to do with the laptop I have connected to the printer.
It's getting on a bit and not that powerful by todays standards.
Which version of Repetier are you using for firmware?
I'm on 0.92.
I can print from SD without a problem but I'm trying to get printing over usb working via S3D so I can remote control the printer using the Teamviewer app on the ipad.
I could of course still print from SD but it's easier to just load a print from the connected computer.
Everything works fine until I start a print. I've had a few prints finish but more often than not, they fail on the first layer.
I've had prints fail when printing from SD with a usb cable connected but never with it removed.
I'm wondering if the usb connection on my old laptop is the issue ??
I had a similar issue and posted here about back when i first switched to Repetier. Luc responded and it fixed it, I will have to look back in my 2000 post and see if i can find it.
Found it, here is what Luc told me. it is worth a check in your firmware.
It contains an error for the "wait" identifier in configuration.h
it is typo issue W is upper case when it should be lower case
#define WAITING_IDENTIFIER "wait"
Mine would lock up randomly which is not that big of a problem except for the fact the temperature is no longer monitored or controlled and goes into thermal runaway. At one point my bed got up to 210 and my extruder was at 320. The only thing that alerted me was that smell you smell when ABS is getting too hot.
Printing since 2009 and still love it!
