Topic: Help find a replacement extruder motor: 400 steps/rev
I recently replaced the hot end of my Solidoodle2 with an E3D. I've followed all the recommended steps, adjusted the E trimpot using the audible technique (had to set it down to 0.100V), and calibrated the steps per unit. But, I still get significant moire patterns. Lowering the temp from 220C to 210 improves it a little, but the parts started splitting (despite the full enclosure).
I'm ready to try replacing the extruder with a 400 step/rev part (this sounds easier than soldering a new 1/32 driver onto the driver board).
Can someone recommend a part, or define the key specs? I saw a post that pointed to Sparkfun. The 42BYGHM809 stepper motor (https://www.sparkfun.com/products/10846 ) is the right physical size, but the 3V spec seems low, based on other forum discussions.

Any suggestions?
