Re: Printer "bricked" mid firmware update

Adruino only works if firmware is on the machine. If it is showing bars there is no firmware but the boot loader is still on it so you can use the methode listed on voltivo to load .bin of the firmware and then use arduino to load the compiled version you can make changes on.

The erase jumper wipes out the firmware and boots the machine in boot strap mode whete it is waiting to have a bin file burned to it.

I am at work so I dont have access to the link on loading from bootloader mode but if you cant find it by midnight I will post it when I get home around then.

Here is the link, follow these instructions to the letter and it should get you back to where you can use arduino.

Re: Printer "bricked" mid firmware update

SOLVED!
I downloaded the stock firmware here:
http://www.wctek.com/shop/files/F20_201 … ELEASE.zip
Put jumper 1 to flash then using Arduino bossac.exe typed this in command line:

bossac -e -w -v -b F20_20140626_FW_2A19_V2.0.J_RELEASE.bin

Now my printer boots with stock firmware and can print!
I wish there is a Repetier firmware in *.bin format that I can load for DaVinci 2.0

Is there a way to change the port number perhaps and get it to COM3 so the XYZWare will find it ???

Thinking maybe if that can be done you might be able to do the firmware update like you normally would....

just a thought

Not sure what your getting at but after flashing to custom firmware I believe XYZware can't see and use the printer, it would just be a Arduino Due in it's eyes.

This is correct. Once you flash to Repetier firmware you can no longer use the stock software/host. The machine is now fully open source and will work on any of the normal host such as Repetier Host, Cura Host, and Simplyfy3d.

The latest version of Repetier firmware supports the 2.0. You just have to set it in the configuration.h tab for your machine.

Re: Printer "bricked" mid firmware update

Well, I believe when my Duo got "bricked" and I attempted to load Repetier firmware: it was never successful.
So therefore I was able to upload the stock firmware.

Right, and no that stock firmware is back on it, you can download the .91 bin of repetier firmware. Install the original version of XYZware the machine came with, then disconnect form the internet. Start xyz and select firmware update. It will give an error for no connection and then allow you to choose a file. Choose the .91 bin and let it update. Once that is done the machine will now be recognized by adruino and you can install the latest version of repetier.

Re: Printer "bricked" mid firmware update

They had me ship mine back under warranty,  I asked that they as a courtesy replace the extruders to the newer type that will print PLA and ABS...lets see if they do that.
