Install the original version of XYZware the machine came with, then disconnect form the internet. Start xyz and select firmware update. It will give an error for no connection and then allow you to choose a file. Choose the .91 bin and let it update. Once that is done the machine will now be recognized by adruino and you can install the latest version of repetier.

Adruino only works if firmware is on the machine. If it is showing bars there is no firmware but the boot loader is still on it so you can use the methode listed on voltivo to load .bin of the firmware and then use arduino to load the compiled version you can make changes on.

The erase jumper wipes out the firmware and boots the machine in boot strap mode whete it is waiting to have a bin file burned to it.

I am at work so I dont have access to the link on loading from bootloader mode but if you cant find it by midnight I will post it when I get home around then.

Here is the link, follow these instructions to the letter and it should get you back to where you can use arduino.
http://voltivo.com/forum/davinci-firmwa … evelopment

My understanding is that when it showed the two bars across the screen it was bricked... if you can manage to load the USB drivers and get it to be recognized you've got a chance.... Shorting out JP1 just wipes everything and will give you the bars on the screen.

I had issues at first and read somewhere to load the most recent version of Arduino to get the USB drivers. Once I installed that and shorted JP1, I was able to unplug the USB cable and reconnect it and it showed up as a Bossa Communications Port or something to that effect.

I have a question though and it's perhaps a bit late for me to go back to... but...

I noticed that during the process it shows up on COM5 for me everytime whereas I know that the XYZWare is looking on COM3 for the printer.... is there a way to change the port number perhaps and get it to COM3 so the XYZWare will find it ???

Thinking maybe if that can be done you might be able to do the firmware update like you normally would....

just a thought
