Re: Polymer Suppliers

I'm currently only supplying it to my materials development group, as it's a 4 Melt and requires some knowledge to work with.  You can sometimes find it at craft stores as bean bag filler, but it's hard to tell from PC.

Maybe you should try some clear PVC or PTFE. I hear it's awesome at really high temperatures. Friendly to birds too.

This is a joke if it wasn't clear...

Re: Polymer Suppliers

Apologies to any first time visitors, it absolutely was sarcasm.  Don't use PVC or PTFE, and don't take everything you read on the internet as true.  Confirm information from at least three different sources, and in our case, at least one scientific or technical source before trying anything at home.  We're not using an easy bake oven here, folks.

Re: Polymer Suppliers

Any idea what happened with OPS?

If you build it they will come. Then they will make fun of it, tell you it's not worth doing and go home and try to copy you.

I think he might be upgrading his page, thus having it down.

Re: Polymer Suppliers

It's been down a couple of days and I was starting to get worried.  I'm planning to purchase a Struder+Winder+Enclosure+Filter at my office and was going to use OPS's pricing compared to buying filament as a selling point to the bosses.

I set it up so it should have redirected.  It also may have taken time for the change to replicate around the world.

I finally got it to work after clicking on the link on the "Store Temporarily Closed" page.  Good to see it again.

Re: Polymer Suppliers

Where to buy nylon pellets ?
Are there any alternative plastic pellets to PLA ?
colorFabb XT seem to be PLA but something is different about it, like 4 times the price as well as 10 times better print quality and hardness of the model.

I dont feel like buying 1kilo of colorFabb XT for $25 or a spool for $85, i'd rather print with cheap PLA.

All i see on the internet when i search for 3d printing pellets is PLA and couple of ABS (B-S is what it is, shares same issues no matter what kind it is)

Please advice.
Im on my last PLA spool and i want CHANGE.

Stock quantities on http://www.emakershop.com/Seller=1324 updated again in case you were looking for PLA or Masterbatch in the UK/EU recently

Natural ABS (£5.00/kg)
ABS colorant/masterbatch: red, black, blue, yellow, white

I have updated the listings to include better volume discounts.

ABS rates drop to £4/kg for bulk purchases.

PLA is purchased in lower quantities, so I didn't get the same volume discount as on the ABS, hence a slightly higher base price.  Starts @ £6/kg for 1kg and quickly drops to £4.50/kg

Masterbatch now available in 7 standard colours:  black, white, red, blue, yellow, green, grey

The Masterbatch is universal so suitable for use with PLA.

Masterbatch, ABS and PLA Pellets available for UK and Europe.

Re: Polymer Suppliers

I have Nylon, TPE, Acrylic, and PP - they're just not listed on the site yet because I sent them out to my testers (like Ggalisky), and I haven't had the time.  I have 13 colors of ABS compatible colorant, some are universal, but most also work with PP, PE, PC, and PS.

I also now carry filament, printer parts, tools, and I've just started selling geeetech electronics (they're also not on the site yet.)  Send me an email at [email protected] if there's something you're looking for.  It may just be sitting on my shelf.

Re: Polymer Suppliers

Hi Everyone,

For Australian filastruders, our research lab has a few tons of spare Brand New ABS pellets for sale (PA747 and MG94),
We discussed this with Tim Elmore (from filastruder.com) a few days ago via email and was told it was okay to sell them here.

Prices as follows:
PA747: AUD $6 per kilogram
MG94:  AUD $8 per kilogram

If you order 20kg at once you save alot on postage costs.
Max weight = 21kg/shipment.

We ship Australia wide. Postage costs are exactly what Auspost charges from Victoria postcode: 3550.

To calculate postage, visit: http://auspost.com.au/apps/postage-calculator.html
Tracking is included.

Payment:
We accept PayPal to keep things safe and simple.
If you don't have PayPal, Bank deposit is also okay if you want.

Please see the pictures below of the actual bags of polymers for sale.

(ignore the EVA bags, our research laboratory uses them, we're only selling the ABS bags.)

If you're interested, please do drop us a message or reply at:    [email protected]

Sincerely,
Terry

(Additional info about these polymers:
PA747 is a high strength low gloss / low shine polymer, giving a professional appearance
PA-747 extrudes at 200 to 225°C Filastruder Nozzle temperature
PA-747 extrudes on 3D Printers at 255°C at around 10mm/s on a 0.4mm nozzle
It's preferred over MG94 for it's professional appearance as the 'layers' aren't easily visible so it doens't look 3D printed .
MG94 is easier to use and faster to extrude as it has a higher flow rate. It has a shiny glossy appearance so is good for sliding or moving parts like gears, but is more costly
MG94 extrudes at 185 to 220°C Filastruder Nozzle temperature
MG94 extrudes on 3D Printers at 255°C at around 15 to 20mm/s on a 0.4mm nozzle (varies based on printer)

This is just a rough estimate, there is much more details about polymers on the forums over here and will vary depending on your setup.)

Re: Polymer Suppliers

Its apparently impossible to get PLA masterbatch in europe without paying 20€ for shipping. My experience with universal masterbatch was not satisfactorey, so im in the process getting some masterbatch from an industrial supplier.
I don't want to make a presale but if some people are interested let me know and I put some stuff up on ebay. I would ship from the netherlands for 7.5.
