Just received SD3 #9604 today ordered 3/6/13. I am leaving for vacation first thing in the morning. Oh well!!! Only had to wait 5 weeks whats two more?

Woke up this evening to find my printer on the porch! smile

Box looked good - No damage from postal service.
Packaging looked good - Standard Solidoodle packaging (Ordered printer only, no filament)

And as a very quick inspection only, Printer looked good.

Didn't have time to really inspect parts (Z platform, etc or wiring).  Didn't get to even plug it up.  Had to work tonight.  Doubtful I will get to mess with it tomorrow, either.  But it will be on this weekend, for sure!

So excited.

I'm getting cranky.

My order id is 9546, order date 2013-03-05, still pending.

In this forum, I've found three orders made later but already shipped. There is also one order two days before that was shipped five days ago. But still my order is pending.

This is what I've found:

Order # 9445, order date March 3, ship date April 12
Order # 9589, order date March 6, ship date April 10
Order # 9663, order date March 7, ship date April 11
Order # 9672, order date March 8, ship date April 11

When asking Solidoodle, they claim that this shouldn't happen and that they can't explain why it has. To me, this sounds a lot like BS.. But then again, I am getting cranky!

Could someone from Solidoodle pleas explain what's going on?

USPS tracking numbers are essentially useless.  Almost every time I have something shipped to me via USPS, the first tracking update on the website occurs the day the package gets delivered.  The only exception is when the package is delivered to FedEx or UPS for delivery.

So my SD3 was suppose to arrive today via ups, I even went as far as to take the day off because I didn't want it being handed over to the people at my apartment office who I do not trust. Anyways ups showed it was on time all the way up until about 11 last night when I got an email saying it was delayed due to a train derailment in New Mexico (Im in California) and now it is just sitting in Albuquerque not moving.

so yeah, a little bit pissed at ups. more so because I didnt hear anything until late last night.

I hope your SD wasn't on the train when it derailed.  Then again, I don't think UPS ships anything by train...at least not in the US.

I dont think it was, I just think the train mine was on was delayed because of it. Most of their cross country "ground" shipments are done by train apparently.
