Topic: Issues with new Delta printer.

I recently built a Delta and for about a week it ran great. Nothing over heating, no weird sounds or vibrations. It is based on a Ramps 1.4 and is using a power supply that claims a 30 amp rating.

The issue is that once the print starts the bed temp will continuousy fall and at about 5 or so minutes into the print the LCD will flicker and all the motors will lock up and just buzz. The hotend wil stay at temp and the logic thinks it is still printing. But if I print live it losses comm with the host as well.

So does this sound like a failing power supply or did I get one of those junk Ramps some are talking about?

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

The PSU seems like the easy part to rule out.

I unfortunately do not have another supply at the moment capable of 30 amps. So it is not that easy unless you know another way to confirm it.

Re: Issues with new Delta printer.

I have used motorcycle batteries/small car batteries to get me by till replacement PSU's arrive.  So if you have one of those that is charged you'd be set.

I have an old Atx pc supply that claims 26 amps on the 12 bus. Maybe I will try it and see what happens. I dont have access to any 12 batteries capable of more than an amp or two.

Your neighbors won't miss the battery in their car for a few hours wink
