I've cleaned this one up for you and rescaled it so it is ready for printing. The problem with these whole body figurines is that you almost always need support. That is the case with this one as well. Also the hair on Max looks like it might be tough. This is where the slicer comes in. Ian did great work showing how to use Kiss. I usually just do head busts, so I haven't had to worry about support in any of my prints.
Anyways, the process after you watch the video is:
1. Get in .obj format using meshlab
2. Center and orient in Netfabb
3. Trim off the bottom in Netfabb
4. Clean up holes and the like in Netfabb
5. Center again and export as .stl
6. Bring into meshlab and run filters-> point set -> Surface Recon Poisson -> Octree11
7. Export as .obj
8. Import to meshmixer and remove unwanted parts and smooth rest out
9. Bring into netfabb and cut bottom again and run repair
10. export as .stl
11. bring into Rep G and scale and center
12. open in Blender and decimate
13. One more repair and final check in netfabb
You need these and they are good tools to have in general...
http://www.netfabb.com/basic.php
http://meshlab.sourceforge.net/

This .stl should be good to slice
One more thing is you can build your own base by adding a large brim.
