Its more of a novelty. But if you have a good use for 1" x 1" x 2" pieces to be done it may be the right thing. The biggest problem I see with this thing is they are using threaded rod for the Z axis and you can see banding issues on their prints. From the description it looks like the firmware will most likely be closed source so no way to fix that issue yourself by replacing with a mini ACME screw.
Other thoughts?
