Topic: failure mod - frosted glass bed

Just thought that I'd save people the trouble of trying this. -or give people a good idea to try this until it works.

sheet of glass, textured using glass etching cream.

the idea was, what are we using hair spray for on glass? (to add texture to the bed).
can we have a textured glass bed. -yes

does it work?

no.

filament temp 210 (reported not measured)
bed temp 95 (reported not measured) -also the bed took ages to get to this temperature.

To be honest glass, (for flat) and kapton (for ABS sticking) is an easy/cheap solution.

-now that question has been answered I'm off to work on my other glass bed ideas!

I guess it's more than just a texture for the surface.  I would hazard a guess that you need some kind of medium that would allow for attachment more than just texture.  Some have used a white-glue/water mix or sugar water for some success.
