Topic: MG94 pellets Toronto (Canada) or Natural ABS Pellets with a close MFI?

Hey all,

I've used up all my pellets which came with my extruder smile   I've been on the lookout for MG94.  I found a distributor in Toronto but they want $6.81/lb min qty of 25kg ($375), unless he mixed up lbs and kg.  This price is insane!!

I can order from OSprinting for $36/10lb + USPS Priority Mail for $76 total.  Which is $7.6/lb but I don't have to buy 55lbs smile 

I did find injection molding pellets in Barrie made by ACLO but it's MFI was 2g/10min - 200C @ 5kg.  They are cheap at $3/kg!  But if I'm understanding this correctly that's 6 times slower extrusion speed!  Or would a temp of 230 vs 200 make much difference?

Let me know of anywhere!?

Do you have a datasheet on the ACLO plastic?

230 vs 200 makes a difference, but maybe not as much as you might think. The MFI at 230C typically isnt 6x the MFI at 200C.

Any chance you can ship to a shipping depot on the border and pick up (or have someone else pick up)?

Quite a few people ship to locations near the border.  But I'm not one of them... It's quite a trip to Niagara Falls and I do not purchase enough smile

Doh... Here's the datasheet... I knew I forgot something!

What I meant was 6x ... 2g vs 11.7g

I am working out ways to maximize the flat rate boxes. It looks like I can fit 18 lbs in a Large flat rate box. Just crunching some numbers that's 64.8 for 18 lbs of ABS (10% discount) and 53.95 for shipping. That works out to be 6.59/lb. I have to play around with this a bit more but it should be online soon. These numbers only work for Canada. Shipping is a bit more for everywhere else.

Sweet!   The guy that's a distributor up here got back to me and said "we do not normally sell in such small quantities so that's why the price is so high"
