Re: 1st 3d printed rifle
The thought of needing a 3D printer to create a gun is a joke. If you truly know the parts of a gun, it is far more simple to go to a hardware store, than to shell out money for a 3D printer.

Easy fix... just print a suppressor to extend it

Most people do not know the parts of a gun...
Shelling out money is probably one of the easiest things to do. Going to the hardware store requires some thought...

Yup, ignorance is bliss. Seen it in another forum and he makes aircrafts.

Re: 1st 3d printed rifle
Wow! VERY impressive update, and a robust, easy-to-use product. I was a little concerned when I saw that his firing pin didn't hit the primer on one of those shots, but I imagine future iterations will only get better. I wonder how he's planning on distributing the files, given the 'quick' take-down response to The Liberator.
Re: 1st 3d printed rifle
Hi guys - do you know if anyone else besides this and the Liberator tried to print out a gun and maybe even tested it if it works?
Re: 1st 3d printed rifle
I know of atleast 4 3d printed firearms 1 was done out of 3d printed metal, the rifle which has been modified now into a much more robust design that has fired 14 shots. there is a 5 shot deringer that uses metal inserts

of course there is have blues original lower
Currently the designer of the grizzly is considering a metal insert for the grizzly and his next project is a repeating rifle so yeah

Re: 1st 3d printed rifle
Thanks! Do you know in which countries these tests were performed?
Re: 1st 3d printed rifle
the grizzly was manufactured and tested in Canada and the others were testedin the US per the information I have. it must be noted that canda and the US have vastly different gun laws. for the liberator to be legal in the US you must include a bar of steel to make it detectable to metal detectors.
Additionally these may not be manufactured for sale they may only be made for personal use inside of the US.
Re: 1st 3d printed rifle
What do you guys think of this technology - 3D printed weapons?
Re: 1st 3d printed rifle
Its an example of where consumer grade 3D is not yet appropriate. You can't make just anything with a Solidoodle. Not yet anyway.
Having said that, the new filaments like T-Glass might change that.
