Congrats!

Elmoret thought it would be a good idea, and I agreed.

The Filastruder project is very important.

I agree completely. I suspect this place will be packed once the KS shipments begin.

Re: The Filastruder forum...nice

I would hope so, it would bring more activity to the forums, and not only from Solidoodle owners.

Re: The Filastruder forum...nice

Hey all, any other filastruder early birds and impatient makers on here yet? I am looking forward to getting to use the 20kg of ABS pellets I acquired when I read about the beta of this project. Also I procured a 20kg bag of polyvinyl alcohol granules, will let all know of the progress with the pva experiments and whether or not it is worth the buy or just a messy waste.

Re: The Filastruder forum...nice

Also I am in talks with an international supplier of polycarbonate pellets, to start experimenting with 100kg of pc stock, hoping it will be able to ship to my lab by the time I make it through my 40kg stock of materials, @departedprinter,  you are a beta tester right? Do you know what the kg/day of material the filastruder can output?

Re: The Filastruder forum...nice

1kg/day, maybe 2 under optimal conditions.

Thanks for the answer Tim, good to see you are keeping an eye on your "pet project"hope you didn't have much else planned for your summer, cuz it looks like you're going to be plenty busy, glad to see you recognized for your hard work and thanks for helping to change the dynamic of future manufacturing.

  Brad and all
I came over to this forum when I saw a link to Tim's project. I got in on one of the early Filastuder from the KS project and also communicated with Tim via email. I have built several ORD-bot hadron's and am working on a 300 cube variation now.
I know of a few others with hadron's that got in on the KS project and will be here once they receive their Filastuder.

BTW, Brad you have a good forum here. I will suggest that you have a place that people with other types of printers can post problems and their success on their type of printers. Once the Filasturders are shipping, your going to get a lot more traffic. Just my thoughts

Re: The Filastruder forum...nice

Hello Takax here again. Just wondering if it would be alright to open a new filastruder thread dedicate to the newly forming community that will be getting to know each other better as each kit is put together over the next few months. I'm new here so just thought I'd check before tasking a divergent thread to your universe of soliforum perhaps early birds could disperse samples to regional neighbors. To get some cross qualified testing going. Wondering how this will change the Amazon ebay community, do we have a contingency for niche market competition, is it filastruder vs commercial filament, these are important issues I feel when opening new market destabilizing technology. To be discussed by democratic action of said change agents. Takax over and out.

Thanks for the feedback Rodney. We do have another forum section for discussion of all 3d printers, not just Solidoodle smile
