Re: ATLAS 3D Scanner Instructions

Hi there. New guy here

I printed and assembled the plastic parts, got the circuit board built from the picture, but...

There's 4 wires on the output side of the circuit board, and I'm using a nema17 stepper motor, so there are also a few wires going to the input of the motor. What I don't see is which wire goes from each of the 4 outputs to which wires on the motor

Other than that minor detail, the build went pretty smoothly

Hi spyder, welcome to the forums!  Which picture are you referring to?

Hi Uriah

https://s3.amazonaws.com/freelss/bb.png

On the A4988 there's 2 wires coming from motor coil A and 2 coming from motor coil B

Now, the motor is labeled Black(A+), Green(A-), Red(B+), Blue(B-) , do those correlate to the "motor coil A" and "motor coil B" ?

Oh, and if so, which is + ? Would those be the + is black and the red, and - is green and blue ? (same as motor)

Re: ATLAS 3D Scanner Instructions

spyder, the Pololu product page shows how the A4988 pins map to the motor coils: https://www.pololu.com/product/1182
You can tell which wires belong to the same coil by measuring the resistance of the wires with a multimeter.  Wires of the same coil should have low resistance between them.  If the motor stutters then swap the position of one pair of wires.  For your motor it looks like the Black/Green wires belong to one coil and the Red/Blue wires belong to the other.

Cool. Thanks smile

Re: ATLAS 3D Scanner Instructions

I have read these instructions several times and I have no rhyme or reason for the two 100 ohm resistors. What on earth are they used for in this build?

Hi,

is possible have the connections from laser and switch to Raspberry pio?

thank you

Re: ATLAS 3D Scanner Instructions

New to 3d Scanning and was going to build the Atlas Scanner as my first. The only question I have is there somewhere listed all the parts needed to build this. I'm kinda working on a shoestring budget and will have to buy the parts a few at a time. I have a 3D printer so printing out the parts is no problem. It's just the hardware that I would need. Any help would be appreciated.
