Topic: Da Vinci 1.1 Plus

I was wanting to see if there were any hacks to the firmware that you all know of.  I have searched site and haven't been able to find anything so I figured it best to start a thread specific to the 1.1.

am looking for some mods for this printer too. I need a temp. control mod. This model doesn't seem to be popular for some reason.

I've just got hold of one of these as well. What I have noticed is that all of the modifications that everyone else can do have been removed from the boards for this one. I'm thinking about replacing all of the electronics and just keeping the chassis, that way I can upgrade the heater head as well.

I have the 1.1Plus and with the Cartridge resetter developed by CdRsKuLL,  I created this case https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1904385  and slightly modified program to enable the 1.1Plus to use any brand filament, set the length, bed temp and extruder temp.  I have been using it for a couple years and haven't had any real issues except random glitch that required me to reprogram the donor chip again so it can be recognized.

My miniMover utility can convert gcode to 3w for all da vinci printers, including this one.  I can't send the print to a 1.1 machine but you can load the converted 3w file into xyzware and send it on that way.

This allows you to slice with any slicer, and more importantly allows you to adjust any setting that you would normally adjust via gcode.  Basically you can set the retraction and temp settings this way.

For the older 1.x line of printers you need to manually select your printer model from the first dropdown and then use the file convert button to go from gcode to 3w (or back).  You can basically ignore all the rest of the application.

I would love to know what the current status of being able to use 3rd party filament with this machine happens to be.

I can't seem to even buy refill cartridges any more, so it's a printer I essentially can't use.
