Hello,

I cant change the extruder temperature with the advanced mode.
im using the da vinci jr.
Can someone help me out?

I have used slic3r to generate the gcode and then convert to .3w with ThreeDubber (can be found in this forum).
I set the temperature in slic3r verified these temperature during printing and it works. I also changed temperatures in the advanced mode, but I had to change at least on three places. As I understand it there is one temperature for the first layer and a second temperature for the rest of the print. I always print from the SD-card.

where can i find the rumored "threedubber"

I had the same question, but after searching the forum I found that there is s link to download the executable file on post 249 of the DaVinci Junior cartridge reset topic thread (I hope this link works: http://www.soliforum.com/post/113862/#p113862). I used it to encrypt and decrypt code but haven't tried putting a model through slic3r and printing etc...

Re: XYZware Advanced Mode

i got three dubber and it appears to work. will play around with it more this weekend, when i get the chance. but i was still unable to get the advanced options to work for XYZware. copy pasted the EXE and it just doesnt open. switched back to the original xyz.exe and it opened just fine. am i missing something or did XWhyZ do a rewrite so that this no longer works?

Re: XYZware Advanced Mode

hi, same problem.  After replacing xyz.exe with you advanced version,  xyzware no longer loads.
Is it possible to install an older xyz directory thats compatible?

XYZ have probably updated a DLL thus rendering the Advanced version useless.

You could uninstall, load an old version, then check if the advanced version works in that folder.
If it does, back up the folder and then load the newer version if required..
You'll then be able to use both the advanced version and the latest xyz one.

Re: XYZware Advanced Mode

Thanks.  Seems XYZprinting are now impregnable and can continue to gouge their users 4x market price for filament given half gets left unused.I foolishly upgraded the firmware to 2.3.3 and so all the great ideas here wont work for me.  Seems cassette resets arent possible since I cant roll back,

I did  install old version ofXYZware, got the advanced mode going and  tried changing filament use fields to zero.   The old version crashed repeatedly and while I could see model it would not print.   I also tried pasting gcode from Slic3r.

I then found a github java project to decrypt the new zipped AES gcode .3W format but seems the password changed and so this no longer works.

Seems XYZ have killed the fun of hacking which is a pity for many reasons.  Great for their pockets though.

So I may end up buying a very cheap PLA printer to use up the spools o perhaps try the RAMPS switch to end XYZ monopoly on my filament.

Use py-threedub.  It will successfully encrypt and de-crypt  gocde <--> 3w files.  Search these forums for the location, it is on github.

EDIT: here is the link -> https://gitlab.com/anthem/py-threedub

Re: XYZware Advanced Mode

Is there a way to mod the Advanced mode .exe to work with the 2.1.23.1XYZware? I'd like to get the colors mixing functionality for my Jr. 2.0 mix. I haven't yet figured out the best settings in simplify3d for retraction so I'm still getting unwanted color blending when I do dual extrusion prints.
