Topic: Attempting to take apart and stuck

I'm finally at the point where I can replace the Z carriage bracket with a Openbuilds V Slot Linear extrude and all the other bits with it I previously posted about here http://www.soliforum.com/topic/13754/bed-bounces/ and while tearing it down I've come to a halt. I have both side panels removed, the door removed, and I can't get to the Barton screws for the front  and rear panel from the inner frame. I thought if I spaced the top of both the front and rear panel i could slide it out, but it's not really working and I don't want to force it and break something in the process. I've scanned all over and not sure what else I'm missing in order to get to the Z carriage bracket or removing the entire inner frame but the pic below is where I'm at so far.

Anyone else who has torn their Press down please let me know what I'm missing, thank you.

Re: Attempting to take apart and stuck

Inside the printer, there 4 screws that hold on the front.
The two top screws are easy to see. The bottom two are a cm above the floor, lined up vertically with the top two. The door magnets will probably go flying when you take the front off. Tape them in place during reassembly.

Be ready to support the front of the XY frame when you remove the front. If you've previously removed the sides and the screws at the back of the XY frame, you should be able to tip the XY frame forward a little - enough to get it loose from the back. You can then lift the XY frame (with Z lift still attached) from the printer.
(Sorry, it's been a while - maybe you also need to remove the inner case before lifting out the XY frame?)

Because the lid makes the case top heavy, when you lift out the XY frame, the case will then fall over backwards as the lid makes it top heavy, yanking wires and possibly banging up the vulnerable x & y limit switches. Not that I would know this first hand, mind you. But you might want to consider propping the back of the case up.

Thank you! I'll give it a try this weekend and report back with progress.
