Topic: Filament guide

So I've assembled my entire filastruder and made sure it all will run properly. But one question how crucial is the filament guide? Is all its used for is cooling? Wouldn't a thicker bolt, a bracket and a lock nut be a better design. I hate zip ties that show it looks cheap. I'll show my filastruder next week when I completely finish the enclosure. I've made a steam punk filastruder case out of metal, with gears, hoses and pulleys and stuff on it for decoration.

Also I'm sure the distance is what matters so I'll keep it correct.

Re: Filament guide

When I designed the Filastruder, the following goals were optimized:

Price
Performance

You'll notice that looks are not on that list.

As long as the position of the fan and the position of the copper assembly are all in the same position, you can hold them up with whatever you wish.
