Topic: Solidoodle press calibration problems

Hello,

I press home x home y then z calibration.

The solidoodle goes all the way left, off of the bed and starts grinding gears trying to go further. Then the z bed comes up and as the extruder's z probe is off the bed it cannot feel the z bed and the extruder grinds into the z-bed.

I have made sure that the zprobe is down, but it seems to be off the bed completely when the zbed comes up so it is of no use in this situation.

I have also checked and cords are not getting in the way. I have been holding them out of the way manually.

If anyone knows what is going on I would appreciate it. I've emailed support already, but I haven't heard good things about their support.

okay I think I've fixed some of the problem. The y axis limiter switch wasn't being hit properly as well. I've added a bit of wire to the "bumper" that is supposed to hit the y axis limiter to make contact better and the y axis grinding is no longer a problem. I haven't had a problem with the wires yet, but I've added a rubber band to hold them out of the way just in case.

On closer inspection I think that the problem may actually be with the x axis. I believe the x axis is off kilter because the extruder never goes towards the x limiter at all. When I type in the code G28 X0 it moves a few millimeters away from the x limiter and then stops. If I type G0 X0 it goes all the way to the left and grinds there for a little while looking for the x limiter. (which is on the right) Eventually it quiets down and I press z home and the bed comes up, but as the x is on the wrong side the z probe never is activated.

I believe that the x axis may be flipped. is there a code fix to test this theory? I would rather not mess too much with hardware.

Have you solved this ? I think I have the same problem, X just won't go right.
