Topic: Some STLs causing my printer to reboot

Hey guys, I'm totally new to all of this.  Girlfriend bought me the latest DaVinci 1.0.  I read a lot about modding and thankfully haven't bricked this model.  Demo print worked fine, so I decided to do some testing.

I found 'thing' 533472 on Thingiverse and decided to use those models to get a feel for this printer's capabilities.
The first test went fine (dimensional accuracy) except for the fact that the circles weren't perfectly round.

What I'm more concerned about is that testing some of the other STL files, they refused to load onto the device and start printing.
The screen would say "receiving print", and as soon as it's done the device shuts down and reboots.

Side note:  Watching a print, and I can actually see the belt sagging... explains the roundness issues.

Any help would be appreciated.  Is there something wrong with the  models?

Run them through netfabb cloud service. Do a Google search for it if you don't know what it is. They have minor issues the software does not like but netfabb service can fix.

Printing since 2009 and still love it!

This happened to me once, and I reduced the number of triangles in the model (from 900x900 to 600x600) and the second simpler attempt worked.

Those settings were for my PhotoToMesh, but your software will probably allow you to reduce the triangle count or maybe level of detail.

Re: Some STLs causing my printer to reboot

I encountered the same issue few times and I was told (by support) that the STL filename I had was way too long.

The model repair service didn't work.  I'll try the filename next,  Thanks!!!
