Topic: Printrbot Simple Metal -> E3D Volcano Upgrade?

Newbie 3D'er/maker/tinker here, curious about upgrading the standard Ubis hot end on a Printrbot Simple Metal with the E3D Volcano hot end. I searched the forum but could not find an answer.

Basically, what is required to make this upgrade? The purchase page has multiple options, and I don't know what I need...
If the full hot end is required, would it be the bowden or the direct? (Sorry if these are dumb questions)

Eruption Pack - Full hotend: All nozzles (0.6/0.8/1.0/1.2mm), volcano heater block, and the rest of the parts from a v6 hotend.
Eruption Pack: All nozzles (0.6/0.8/1.0/1.2mm), heater block, heater, thermistor/wiring.
Starter Pack: 0.8mm nozzle, heater block, heater, thermistor/wiring.
No Nozzle: heater block, heater, thermistor/wiring
(Nozzles available here)
(If you don't already have an E3Dv4, E3Dv5, E3Dv6 hotend, Chimera, or Kraken hotend you will also need a heatsink, heatbreak, and probably a cooling fan/duct.)

Thank you!!

Re: Printrbot Simple Metal -> E3D Volcano Upgrade?

The Volcano started out as just an add-on to existing E3Dv6 hotends. I got so many folks asking for an E3Dv6 hotend with the Volcano replacement that I made it an option, too. I resisted at first since I thought it would be confusing (seems I was right), but had many requests so here we are.

The Volcano add-on only works with E3D hotends (not the Ubis you have), so you need a full hotend if you want to go Volcano. The good news is since Volcano is longer, it better matches the really long Ubis, requiring less modding to fit.

Your PSM is direct by default, but you can get the w/Bowden Extras version if you ever want to go Bowden.
