Re: upgrade to E3D V6

quick question, where does one wire in the new fan on E3d v6? there's already one cooling the filament motor... you don't splice into that do you? (I'm having difficulty finding a good source of pin-outs for the SD3 motherboards, also some confusion with them as well, there are like 3 different kinds?)
I would hope there are extra pins so one can expand the number of fans. for instance I see a lot of people add another fan to blow on the bed to cool the plastic once its deposited to make a nicer finish, I'd like to try that as well, so that means I need to hook up a minimum of  3 fans... so where do I wire them in at?

thanks!

Re: upgrade to E3D V6

You will have to tie it into an existing fan, remove a fan and use that port, or add another port to the stock fan bundle. I spliced it into the extruder motor fan (filament motor fan) myself as this was the most convenient way to do it. Some people like to solder them but I prefer ferrules+heatshrink because its a stable connection under stress and motion.
