Re: Solidoodle Workbench Apprentice bad out of the box

its auto leveling then sounds like filament feed jammed. did you let everything heat up b4 printing like normal? and is it heating/melting filament? if so something is not letting it feed sounds like.
maybe a shipping strap still tight?? follow unpacking instructions again

Solidoodle 2 with Deluxe kit cover & glass bed with heater. and 2nd board SD2 used not 3rd and alum platform not installed yet still wood. also need cooling fan installed to board. use Repetier Host couple vers. Slic3r also have all free ware STL programs

Re: Solidoodle Workbench Apprentice bad out of the box

So I should try heating everything up first before I try it I was trying to dry run
The z pushes up he heat plate into the extruder

Re: Solidoodle Workbench Apprentice bad out of the box

There will be an end stop switch that the bed platform hits.  It sounds like that needs to be adjusted so the z stops before it hits the nozzle.
Pictures would help, since none of us has seen your printer up close it'll be difficult to give exact answers but I am sure we can get you up and running fairly quickly.

Re: Solidoodle Workbench Apprentice bad out of the box

It pushes on the switch but keeps on going
But it does a self-leveling and then after it's done self-leveling it pushes off all the way up
I will post a picture when I get home

Re: Solidoodle Workbench Apprentice bad out of the box

You're going to want to check the wires and connector to the board for that switch.

Re: Solidoodle Workbench Apprentice bad out of the box

It's the switch and shuts off during the self-leveling
That's why don't understand when he gets done with the six checkpoints at the end and it pushes itself all the way up

I'll make another video and show how this which works
That's why I think the printer is bad

I didn't just pay in $800 for printer that does not work and I have to work on it straight  out of box that's stupid

Re: Solidoodle Workbench Apprentice bad out of the box

I am guessing you aren't very familiar with 3d printers?
If your willing to put in the time and effort I'll be happy to help.  I can assure you that your printer isn't bad.  That doesn't mean something isn't screwed up or broken.  The systems for all 3d printers are pretty much the same.  If something is actually broken you'll want to contact SD support.  There is an easy solution to most problems.  We just need to figure out what isn't working properly.

Re: Solidoodle Workbench Apprentice bad out of the box

That will make things easier.
When you get a chance get some pictures or a video.
Is there an easy way to remove the auto leveling from the start code?

Re: Solidoodle Workbench Apprentice bad out of the box

I am guessing you have 2 .40 nozzles.
Doesn't it seem odd that you have an infill extrusion width of 1.28?
And a top infill of .68?
