Topic: using filament from filastruder as its produced

I have odd question. Since it has been said the Filastruder can produce filament faster than a printer can consume it,would it be possible to do that? If so wouldn't that make it possible to make and use multicolor filament on the fly?

SD3, E3D hotend, linear bearing on x/y axis',pillow block bearing on y conneting rod, ball bearngs on front y axis, fan on y stepper motor.

well thats a ton of calulations to figure when to feed how much of each color into filastruder hopper. LOL be easier to buy the filament splicer tool sold online and linked in other topics which was used to do that

Solidoodle 2 with Deluxe kit cover & glass bed with heater. and 2nd board SD2 used not 3rd and alum platform not installed yet still wood. also need cooling fan installed to board. use Repetier Host couple vers. Slic3r also have all free ware STL programs

Re: using filament from filastruder as its produced

Putting color in the hopper is not the problem.

The problem is twofold:

1.) Getting the speed of the Filastruder to match the speed of the printer. This would be nearly impossible.
2.) Startup of the Filastruder - you need 30 minutes to let the plastic melt evenly, and then the first foot or two is unusable. Not a big deal if you're cranking out a spool, kind of a big deal if its a single print.
