Topic: reset Repetier Host settings?

I want to set the "Printer Settings" numbers to default. I don't see a "Reset to defaults" button.
I've uninstalled the program, deleted the files at C:\Users\User\AppData\Local\RepetierHostSolidoodle
and then reinstalled the program, but the settings are still what I've set.
Where are the settings stored so I can delete them or how can I alternatively reset them to defaults?

Re: reset Repetier Host settings?

After un-installing the software delete the following directories. The settings for slic3r is located in the folder \Users\username\AppData\Roaming. Delete \Users\username\AppData\Local\RepetierHost. Last one is \Program Files\Repetier-Host.

Re: reset Repetier Host settings?

that depends on your operating system and ver of RH

Solidoodle 2 with Deluxe kit cover & glass bed with heater. and 2nd board SD2 used not 3rd and alum platform not installed yet still wood. also need cooling fan installed to board. use Repetier Host couple vers. Slic3r also have all free ware STL programs

Re: reset Repetier Host settings?

Windows 7. Repetier Host for Solidoodle 0_85_1.
Deleted folders \Users\username\AppData\Local\RepetierHostSolidoodle (none named just "RepetierHost") and \Program Files\Repetier-Host.
No folder or file named slic3r in \Users\username\AppData\Roaming
After uninstalling and reinstalling, the settings are what I left them to be.

Re: reset Repetier Host settings?

Just installed Repetier Host for Solidoodle 85.1 in Windows 7 it installed settings in the following directories. C:\Users\user\AppData\Local\RepetierHostSolidoodle.  C:\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Slic3r. C:\Users\user\.skeinforge.

In the registry it also puts the settings for repetierSolidoodle.  HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\repetierSolidoodle. Also under HKEY_USERS\.....\Software\repetierSolidoodle.

Remember changing settings in the registry is instant. Be careful what you change.

Re: reset Repetier Host settings?

Saves program settings in the registry? That's new.
I guess that means before installing the Repetier Host program there wasn't anything in the registry, so I can delete them and when reinstalling it will see there's nothing there and add those values as was the case during first install?

Re: reset Repetier Host settings?

sometimes I find folders in admin folders also.

I have 2 versions of RH on my laptop both use their own registry and can operate independently as long as not being used on same printer at same time. some say the newest versions of RH cant and had to delete/uninstall old versions. thats why I havnt installed that ver yet, as I like having choice since sometimes I dont want to be forced to use all the new addons each print like pre scan objects loaded with Netfab. and I saved my Slic3r presets also to put in new Slic3r/RH folders. I use ver 85b for prints I have done b4 or easy prints, and ver 95f for untested prints. if the newest versions could be used this way I would install it and try seeing how I like it. Im just an old dog that dont like spending all my last years learning new stuff b4 I even learn how to use the last ver. LOL my 2 sons make fun of me for doing that with my puter stuff. they love backing up, reinstalling all new on latest hardware monthly. takes me years b4 ready for that.

Re: reset Repetier Host settings?

Jaques, you can delete them and the old settings will be gone. Install the software the new settings will only appear.

Seems as another version is installed the locations do change. I did this on a test environment with two different versions of the software. As with you it creates additional duplicates not sure if any of the versions with overwrite the previous. From my past experience each with software each should be different.

N2ri. I know what you mean about reinstalling software. Best way to try multiple applications is use a virtual environment.

Re: reset Repetier Host settings?

Thanks, deleting the registry entries seems to have worked.
Didnt find anything in HKEY_USERS\.....\Software\repetierSolidoodle though.
