They switched to red clips now? lol

My #1 suggestion is to stop shipping directions that lead to a 404, for the love of god, it's not hard, and I'd argue this is a far bigger deal than folks make it out to be. I've posted about it a couple times. It's unprofessional, and certainly a critical error.

I couldn't agree with you more.
It's just a cheap colored paper printed on with a BW printer.
Some of the folks in their crew work really hard and make a very affordable 3d printer which can print quality 3d parts and is strong enoug that you can stand on it, then someone forgets to update the instructions on a piece of paper or let the person making those know that the address has changed.

Communication errors have taken down bigger companies than Solidoodle. They won't scale if they don't correct these management problems.

The one on the extruder holding the extruder and the x axis belt together. kinda.

unless its very well hidden, there's no zipties there or anywhere else in my SD4

Also, once you get to calibrating, please post your results. I found that my machine was perfectly calibrated. No need to change extruder steps per mm, no need to adjust extrusion multiplier from 0.6, nothing... All I've ever had to do is bend that switch, tighten belts and balance the bed.

had a chance to run the printer yesterday, bent the z switch up, leveled the print bed, and did a 20mm calibration cube w/ the included starter filament. off the top of my head the x & y dimensions were 19.76mm & 20.02mm, so some small tweaks will be needed, but pretty good straight out of the box (haven't done any circle tests yet)

yes some people just need to go back to their FB gamer pages if they love name calling so much.

I agree with SD needing better packaging people. makes me worry what these 3 new models will arrive like. seems they already treat their SD4 like old foster kids needing a new home ASAP

Re: small issue with my new SD4 - Z offset thumbwheel

i don't throw them in hot. but i still prefer to give it a short amount of time in the freezer because it pretty much guarantees no need to pull/scrape on the print. i just have several sheets of glass so i can go from one print to another. let the others cool down, put them in the freezer a little bit later if i want them off that day, leaving them at room temp over night also removes them completely usually.

i wear gloves any time i handle glass. lowes cut me one that had a very rough spot on an edge and it cut the hell out of my finger (no stitches needed, thank god). don't like to risk it with glass. definitely don't want exploding glass everywhere.

Re: small issue with my new SD4 - Z offset thumbwheel

Or just cut it smoothly the first time. The sharp edges seem to occur when they slice it up really quick. Haven't had a sharp edge in a while that I know of; but I tell them now don't cut it sharp or you'll be cutting another..
