Topic: Glue stick alternative?
Is there an alternative to using a glue stick? I sometimes find it extremely hard to remove my part from the printing bed when finished.

Wait for your bed to cool to below 50 C before trying to remove your part. At some point below that temp, the part will usually make a distinct pop and will pretty much come off by itself after you hear it. At much over 50 C, though, it is REALLY hard to get anything to come loose.
Be patient and let it cool down before trying to remove it.

True. This is the best advice. I had been impatient too many times and learned it through my mistakes.

I'd recommend reading up on the alternative materials out there - Google is your friend! The few I've run across are glue sticks, blue painter's tape, masking tape, and kapton tape. I'm personally using blue painter's tape after having a chunk come out using the glue stick method - the comfort of being able to rip paper instead of shatter glass makes me feel sooo much better about a print job.
Take a look at reprap.org/wiki/Heated_Bed#Surface_Materials to get a feel for the various materials. You'll also find that the type of material you use varies based on what you're printing with.

Thanks for the responses. I always let the bed cool down for an hour or so before trying to remove the part. However, it's still pretty tough sometimes. I'm gonna give the painters tape a try.

I usually have the issue of "not sticking" well enough at the start of the print and then they are welded to the glass when printing is done.
Latest thing I've tried is Aquanet extra hold. Haven't tested it much, but the one thing I printed on it worked fine.

Hairspray is by far the best method of attaching to the heater bed, Only 2 -3 light sprays.
Make sure that the hairspray has this ingredient:
Va/crotonates/vinyl neodecanoate copolymer
It is usually found in more expensive hairsrays but is the ingredient that bonds to the surface (it is vinyl after all)

You can remove your prints right away, no need to wait for the bed to cool down.
