Topic: Sli3er, Kisslicer, Skeinforge etc etc etc

Helloooo, right im new to all this so bear with me....

Right i took delivery of my solidoodle 2 about a week ago, unboxed it and got cracking with pronterface and skeinforge...To be honest i wasnt that impressed, ive been doing simple bottle opener tests to try and tweek the settings but to no avail!!!

I moved onto repetierhost 2 days ago and it seem a much better program but when i use slic3r to get the gcode it prints reeeeeally badly, very blobby and just badly, ive tried ians configurations on it too and it still comes out horrible... any ideas on this would be great!?!?!

I then tried kisslicer...changed the settings to suit the nozzle and filament etc etc and didnt change that much...and it came out reeeeeeally well, however i then tried ians settings again and it went balls up!!!

I would love it if i could get any help for any of them...ive tried pouring through the info and i find solutions that seem to bugger it up!!

Hello acidarchitecture,
Do you have any picture to show us how the result is ?

Printer: Solidoodle 2
Slicer: Slic3r
Soft: repetier

Re: Sli3er, Kisslicer, Skeinforge etc etc etc

Yea sorry!! might have helped!

SO....on the image below..

1 - Pronterface with skeinforge (the standard solidoodle settings)
2 - Repetier with Slic3r (the standard soliddodle .3mm settings from their recent config files they sent out)
3 - Repetier with Kisslicer (My own tweaked settings...which i now have lost!!! and cant get back.)

basically as you can see the kisslicer is by far the best...but since i have tried the suggested settings it is producing a similar result as the slic3r one...

Try reducing the flow tweak or the filament diameter.  It looks like Slic3r is running too much plastic.   Did you measure the filament with a caliper?

ahhh i dont have any at the moment, but ive got some coming, but dropping the flow seems to be doing the trick so thank you very much!!!

also thanks for all the other things youve posted, they helped big time

If you still have the good output G-code from KISSlicer, all the settings used are in the comments at the top of the file.  If comments were disabled, then of course this will not be the case.  [8^)
