Topic: I am incapable of finishing projects.

Again.. Moving on to new things before getting anywhere near completion of my hundred other projects.
Seriously I think it's probably the most annoying thing about printers.. And being unable to concentrate on singular items.

This time a chest armour set from Halo 4, surprise surprise.
Specifically the Pathfinder Mjolnir gen2 variant.

I took the in-game ripped model and attempt to modify it's low poly mesh into something resembling the textured model in-game.
Evidently they do most of the detail with textures to save on rendering time.

This is hopefully not unlike what it'll look like once finished.

And here's a rear view of the original artists concept:

And the crap I managed...

Sliced:

And started the prints:

With 8 kilos of PLA pellet on the way I should be able to knock over the printing rather quickly.
Hopefully the OrdBot doesn't explode along the way.
Might even be able to print a helmet to go along with it.

Anyway, if you've gotten this far.. Thanks for reading my idle ramblings big_smile

Looks like a great project.
Nice to know i'm not the only one who has problems finishing a project.  i can't count how many projects i have laying around that are about 85% complete but need to be polished off to be complete.  Seems like one I get a project in the semi-working phase, i lose interest and chase the next rabbit smile

SD2 - Glass Bed, Fans on PCB and Y motor, Custom enclosure
Slicer - Simplify3D

Lul yeah, it's terrible... The sad thing with mine is that I could be making decent money from actually selling the completed things but no... I'm too impatient apparently.

As a Halo fan this is stunning! Keep up the good work. Are you focusing most on Halo 4 stuff, or have you done items from the other games?

Ulitmaker 2, a few repraps, Custom Big FFF 3D printer with heated chamber.

Excellent! big_smile
Yeah I've done a few bits of older Halo stuff like the first few Magnums between H1 and 4.
I've even got the MKV-B armour from Reach ready to print in a folder but I thought better of printing it before this set.

Wow, certainly looks ambitious though it'll be great when it's done. I'm interested as to how the pieces attach, are you adding in pegs/holes, dovetails etc. or fusing them with acetone?

Most of the pieces here will just be glued with araldite(its pla so acetone is useless). The back, front and backback jetpack things will snap together with neodymium magnets in the spots where it seemed logical for the parts to split were it a real armour system. Not unlike how Master Chiefs armour splits in the post credits scene of Halo 4 actually.
