Re: Part not sticking in corners when printing at .1

Interesting results.
Had alot of strings to clean up under the chin and ears.

The main thing is that just above the eyes the layers shifted over about 4 perimeters, kept printing up about another 25 layers then shifted over again. I have seen this before and have never been able to explain it.

I believe the motors get really hot on a good day, so a 27 hour print on a really hot day I think has caused the motors to miss align or something like that, it is uniform around the part so it wasnt caused by the print shifting on the bed or anything.

Pictures attached, only taken with an iphone..believe it or not I actually I dont own a digital camera...weird.

Im going to order a 40mm heatsink for the x axis and see if it corrects this shift I see from time to time.

Still looks pretty good!  I also don't have a digital camera and rely on my iPhone, the lack of manual focus is extremely irritating for close detailed shots.

Re: Part not sticking in corners when printing at .1

Why isn't my first layer temperature setting working?  It prints the first layer at 195 degrees, regardless of the layer temperature settings in Slic3r, AND my printer settings in repetier !

Is there a default value in the firmware that sets the extruder to 195??  Anyone see this happenening?  Watch the actual extruder temperature in repetier when you prints stuff...

I really (for no particular reason) want to print this http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:32825 scaled up 2x.  I have trouble with the base, but the rest seems to print well.

Ive noticed alot of companies marketing 3d printers use the tower file to 'wooo' there customers in.

Ill give it a shot at .1 over the next few days and see how I go.

Ill post some pics when/if I finish it.
