Hey I just bought a used solidoodle 2 with v5 E3D hot end any tips before it arrives?

Ulitmaker 2, a few repraps, Custom Big FFF 3D printer with heated chamber.

Just read up on calibrations.  I have bought a few SD3's from frustrated users that just couldn't get them to work.  Every one of those I have had up and running in about an hour.  The last one works so good I kept it as a spare just so I can work on mods for the other.

3-SD3's & a Workbench all fully enclosed, RH-Slic3r Win7pro, E3D V6, Volcano & Cyclops Hot End
SSR/500W AC Heated Glass Bed, Linear bearings on SS rods. Direct Drive Y-axis, BulldogXL

If you want but there really isn't going to be any real improvements if the v5 is already installed.  I ordered up v6 and I have no intentions of replacing my v5.  I would just use the v5 it is a great hot end and it has proven itself.  I am sure the v6 is great but not having used one I can't verify that.  Besides there are going to be many other mods that you'll want to spend money on wink

I would concur. v6 brings some incremental benefits, but v5 is still a very solid hot end.
