Topic: Extruder Fan speed and control

The extruder fan on my SD3 is always on and further more remains on when the printer is switched off.
Had to replace cooling fan after a couple of months.

How do I make the fan switch off when I switch off the printer?
How do I make the software control the fan speed and what parameter should be used to select fan speed?

How does it run without power to printer - Unless you mean when you remove the printers external power but you are leaving it connected to the PC - which means its still USB powered and its not just the fan thats powered then either... Its the entire printrboard..

You don't - its supposed to be on 100% power 100% of the time.. its not a Print Fan (which is what people are referring to when they speak of PWM controlled fans....)

My thanks to "down under" for a very clear explanation.  I have a dedicated PC and didn't think of unplugging the USB.
Much appreciated. Peter
