Topic: SD3 temperature of nozzle

I read some place that solid doodle measures the temperature wrong and 200C is closer to 230C. This makes sense if they use a thermocouple without cold reference junction; such measurement will measure delta to ambient, so 200C measured is like 230C true if ambient is 30C.

The bottom line question is what temp to set the extruder on SD3 to print with Taulman 618 nylon? Taulman recommends 245C true temperature.

Re: SD3 temperature of nozzle

They use thermistors, not thermocouples.

They measure nozzle temp, everyone else measures heater temp.

210C is a starting point on the SD hotend. Plenty of threads here on printing nylon, try a search.

Thanks for info.
