Topic: surface anamolies

For some reason the edge closest to the rear of my machine has these anomalies all over the surface.  They don't appear on the opposite side.  Any ideas what would cause this?

Any chance you could circle these so that we can zero out on the exact error?

If you compare the pics, it's the bumps and loops of ABS on the second picture accross the entire surface....

Are these bumps where the printhead is starting a new 'z' layer by chance ie. stopping and starting the extruder.

The entire face is filled with excess abs.  The faces are identical but the face closest to the Z threaded shaft has very rough spots.

Have you calibrated your extruder steps and flow

I agree with this.

Calibrate your extruder and look into retraction settings after that.

The bumps are along the ENTIRE Face.  It's not where a Z-change (beginning/end of layer).
I'll try running it with Slic3r and see if I have different results.
I also have a new version of Skeinforge.

I'll calibrate both and let you know my results.

Guessing backlash in the Y-Axis. Had very similar issues, try re-tensioning your z-axis belts per the solidoodle video.
