Topic: Greetings from Farmington Hills, MI

Greetings!

My name is John and I'm a Senior Web Designer/Art Director for an educational company in Farmington Hills, MI. We just bought a Solidoodle printer for testing and I, and another developer, have been tasked with getting this beastie up and running. :-)

Thanx for reading and glad to be part of the FUTURE! (waves hands in the air and makes a Theremin sound).

Cheers!

Progress thus far...
Our initial test runs have been less than stellar. Our biggest problem, layer adhesion. We've cleaned the Kapton heatbed cover with acetone... adjusted the extruder temp (from 190°c to 200°c and everything in between)... adjusted the extruder speed... adjusted the Z-Offset... nothing works. It's becoming apparent that this is not a simple "set-up and print" sort of thing and requires lots of tweaking before you get anything resembling a decent print. Are there any tutorials featuring printer presets available? I should note that we followed the Solidoodle tutorials precisely with little, to no, success.

Specs:
Solidoodle, 3rd gen

ABS 1.75mm filament

Re: Greetings from Farmington Hills, MI

A piece of glass and hair spray solved my not sticking problem. Also careful adjustment of the Z offset.
