Topic: 40MM fans/heatsinks

I picked up a bunch of fans/heatsinks to use with my SD.

These are 40MM, and come with or without a heatsink. I don't need all of them, so I'm happy to sell some to you guys.

These fans will work with Joosh's electronics cover:

Or the electronics cover I designed:

And with Lawsy's extruder fan duct:

As well as what I plan to use them for, mounting the heatsinks on the stepper motors to keep them cooler.

Prices:
$3/heatsink&fan
$2/just a fan

flat $2 shipping.

Re: 40MM fans/heatsinks

I don't. This is as much as I can dig up on them:

I could measure it crudely with a bag...

They're pretty close to the existing extruder fan, and a little quieter. I can't hear two of them at 6v each over the extruder fan.

Re: 40MM fans/heatsinks

What sort of heatsink did you find for the Pololu drivers? (the stepper motor drivers.)

I have had difficulty finding tiny heatsinks that clear the rest of the board.

I didn't put any on. Just some forced convection should do the trick, unless you're turning them up beyond SD spec.

Here's some that should work well:

Let me know if you want some fans or 40mm heatsinks, I have a few left.

Re: 40MM fans/heatsinks

Ah! I understand now. I looked closer at the photos, and there are little heat sinks attached to the fans (presumably that's the fans+heatsink option)

I could totally use two of the plain fans.  I noticed this morning my spare fans are 18-24v big_smile, so it would be useful to have two of yours assuming that they are ~12v designed.

Do I just paypal you $6?   I would send to your gmail address, assuming it's also a paypal address.

Nope, they're 5v, as shown in this link:

I run two in series off 12v.

If you're still interested, it'd be $6 to my address.

I just strip the wires and put them in the power terminal. I can't hear them over the extruder fan.
