Topic: Isolating outer faces?

Hey guys,

I have yet another question!
I've got a model that has a lot of inner detail that make easy editing for printing rather complicated...
Intersecting parts etc etc.

Wondering if there is a automated way of hollowing it out, or isolating only the outer layer?

The model is too large to be uploaded here, but the original .obj can be found on my Thingiverse page.
