Topic: Rock and a hard place......
Hello all,
Well, I have some money saved up and am about halfway to being able to order a SD3. while waiting I keep asking myself questions like "am I really going to have time for 3D printing?". It is something I really want to do but I don't have much free time. Rc helicopters is my main hobby, I have been flying to 15 years but I find I have less and less time for them nowadays.
Also I have been looking around at other 3D printers and found the Robo3d and the Rigidbot. both have a larger build volume and heated bed and cost less than the SD3 but the problem with them is that they aren't even available yet. If I did order one it would be months before I had it in my hands. I am also not a fan of moving bed, seems like it could possibly pop the print off if you were to print something large with a small base.
So, what do you guys think would be best for a newb like me with little free time? Should I save some money and go with something like the printrbot simple to get my feet wet and see if 3D printing is for me? Should I stick with my guns and go with a SD3? or should I wait out the rigidbot or robo3d? heck, if you know of something cheaper and easier to setup please enlighten me
I am up for ideas. I have the money to order a printrbot simple right now, it'll be another month before I can afford the SD3.
