Topic: Hello! Long time 3D printing, first time with my own printer

Hello forum smile

In my work as a freelance CAD designer, I've been using Shapeways and other services to get 3D prints. For a few months I've been looking into getting my own printer to do the initial prototypes. Last week I got lucky and won a drawing for a Gen 2. (!!!) I paid the $200 to upgrade to the "Expert" model last week, and now I'm watching out the window for the delivery guy. tongue

After reading the forums and wiki, it looks like a glass bed is a good idea. Any other mods that you folks recommend right out of the box?

Print the Mk 5 extruder mount to have as a spare...

If you have the time and filament, print the x-y carriage replacement as if something REALLY goes south, you can always replace it.

Thanks. Would those be the models by lawsy on Thingiverse? ( I can't post links because I'm new I think)
