Topic: Need sketchup help

I want to put a 1/2" cylinder handle along this axis in the model. Can someone help me out. I cant seem to get the follow me tool to line up and seal up on the ends. They stay at 4.5 degree angle and wont close up.

I have little faith in the "follow me" tool in sketchup... generally, getting "close" then hand-drawing the connections for the last bit are what I end up having to do...

Sounds good. I think I have gotten it to work out ok. I did have to attach it by hand at the end. I wish that tool would work a little better.

SketchUp becomes much more useful when using plugins.

Fredo6 curviloft (google it):

File attached, I did exactly what is shown at the start of the video. Works first time without issues.

Re: Need sketchup help

Here, got it for you.  The trick is that you only want a face to start, and you only want to follow me on one face.  In the file I finished it how I figured you want it, and above that, showed how you should have started it.

Also if you do not already know, use the follow me too like this:  Select the line you want (multiple segments if nessisary) , then click follow me, and then click the face.

If you have any other questions, lemme know!

This is excellent advice.

Between that and the plugin you should be sorted.
