Topic: Dragon Claw ePipe

Here is an ePipe (eCigarette) I designed and printed. Worked on this design for about a month beginning to end, but a lot of that time was spent learning Blender. The hand, cap, and battery box (inside bowl) are printed in ABS. The bowl is printed in Taulman 618. The bowl is about 4-5 perimeters thick allowing it to be flexible enough to pop into place in the hand, but quite firm to the touch. Tank atty and tip are standard ecig components that screw into the hand.

At the bottom you can see an attempt at dying the nylon filament. The print failed and I didn't have enough backup for a another full print. Didn't really like how the purple came out, so no loss. May try black/purple at some point or leave as-is.

did you dye the nylon before you printed with it?

Yea, that was done using RichRap's method. I sliced the object then measured out enough filament, plus some extra incase there was an issue, cut it and placed in a bag with dye covering the bottom half.

Edit: Only purple object at bottom was dyed. The actual bowl used was printed with natural.

Looks good. I have plenty of nylon sitting around. I need to try this.
