Topic: Repositioning stl in repitier

Is there a way to manually position things downloaded from thingaverse before slicing.
Some things are dropped on edge when adding object.  the auto position button won't work. And haven't figured how to make it active

Select the STL in the list, then use the control that looks like a truck to drag the STL around with the mouse. You can also enter values in the translation fields.

Or, you could simply left click to select the object, then drag it around while holding down the right mouse button.

Click the rotation button on the left, then you can try this:

Left button + Drag  = rotates the platform (more accurately your point of view around it)
Right Button + Drag  =  moves the object around the platform
Shift + Left button + Drag =  Pans camera up, down, left, right
Wheel = Zoom in/out

When you drag the object around the platform, ti will always be on the surface of the platform.  To raise it above, you'll need to input a positive numeric value in the "Z" translation box on the right

To print or, 3D print, that is the question...

Careful. Remember those who pooh-poohed the internet. They are all hiding in a cave somewhere. 3D printing is much more mainstream than you think. Not in 10 years. Now!

Apparently in 2011, $1.7 billion dollars of 3D parts were sold. That's 2 years ago. The Boeing dreamliner has 3D printed parts. The Mars rover has it too. So does the Microsoft Surface I write this on.
