Topic: Hello Solid people

Recently had a part made for me on a SD, so now a SD is in the running for my first machine(s). Am comparing it to the usual suspects  smile

Re: Hello Solid people

I did the same after watching a 3d printer work at a lab I worked in.  Finally decided on the SD3 because of the large print volume and low price point... so far I haven't found really anything wrong with it.  I've had it out of the box 3 days and already have an enclosure printed as well as a filament guide and was up and printing (decent) parts from day 1.

I'd say for the price, the SD3 is an excellent printer if you've got a bit of free time and are looking for a hands-on hobby!

The enclosure is the hard part. Would like a ready to use one.

Re: Hello Solid people

Hard? 4 sheets of plexiglas from Amazon and a pack of magnets. Job done.

If that's hard, you probably shouldn't be looking at hobbyist-grade 3D printing. Just trying to save you the frustration.

Re: Hello Solid people

Ok, I guess I meant hard to make looking good. Although maybe the enclosures do look good; I have not seen pics of SD ones, only Rep and FF ones. Is there a thread just for enclosures?
