Topic: Printing with Sugru silicone goo

The guys at HYREL made a way to use Sugru (www.sugru.com) as media for 3D printing. They use one of these extruders (http://www.hyrel3d.com/emo-25/) at room temperature and just squirt the packets of Sugru into the metal cartridge. Apparently the extruder just squirts it out. I havf my reservations though, having worked with Sugru. It wants to cure within a half hour of contact with the air, so you couldn't print a very big part.

Its all good stuff. I am looking for more low fidelity uses of the technology, ever since I saw a machine crawling along the side of the road pooping out concrete into perfectly sculpted curbs. Picture this, you set up some pipe jig, latch on the bot, hook up a hose and say "print me a couch!". Carpentry only goes up to 1/8th inch anyway, that is why we have caulk. Or better yet you get a machine crawling around laying down its own laser sintered or arc melted rebar and topping it off with some compressed block and mortar slurry that it gathers from the site itself. Instant condo, or, I may have read that in a sci-fi mag.
